Our friendly team will be on hand be able to tell you about the exciting jobs and career opportunities on offer across a wide range of departments at REIDsteel - including trainee, apprentice and graduate roles in design, fabrication, project management, construction and more.

Visit our stand at the Careers and Apprenticeship Show at Bournemouth International Centre on Thursday March 14.

We will be among nearly 100 employers at the CAS 2024 event, which is set to attract more than 3,000 young people and 1,600 adults, parents, teachers, carers and guardians.

Love where you work…we do

We’re looking forward to taking part in the ‘Love Where you Work’ expo in Bournemouth this week.

We’ll be among the exhibitors at the event at the Hilton Hotel on Wednesday February 8 from 10am to 7pm.

It’s part of a trailblazing initiative by Bournemouth University with funding support from BCP Council to help local employers in their recruitment campaigns and to create more job opportunities for young talent in the area.

We will be among employers from six key sectors at the event who will be showcasing their companies, holding activities and giving an insight in what a typical day looks like.

There will also be a stand to take professional photographs of visitors that can be used on LinkedIn and other channels to help create a professional first impression.

The event follows BU-led research in the first part of the project which included interviews with employers about their recruitment challenges and alumni about their career paths and employment priorities.

John Reid & Sons (Strucsteel) Ltd has three great opportunities for people to become part of its talented team.

We have new openings for a Site Manager, Estimator/Bid Manager and Purchasing Administrator.

Site Manager: Based at REIDsteel’s office in Christchurch, Dorset, but also working away from home to manage any of the company’s UK construction sites. They will:

Actively promote a safety first approach to the erection of structures
Produce RAMS, erection sequences and crane lift plans
Manage site labour and plant
SMSTS, CSCS Managers’ card, AP, full UK driving licence required

Steel and cladding experience is required for this role.

Estimator/Bid Manager: Responsible for preparing sales estimates, proposals and bids for design & build and pre-design projects. They will:

Work collaboratively with the wider team to generate competitive bids
Work closely with customers, business development and project managers to see bids through to fruition.

Previous experience of estimating in steel and/or cladding sectors is essential.

Applications would also be welcomed from graduates with a relevant design, technical or QS degree, looking to begin a career in estimating/bid management.
