We’re backing the Excellence in Manufacturing and Engineering category at this year’s Dorset Business Awards.

Entries have just opened for the 25th annual extravaganza, which is organised by the Dorset Chamber.

The prestigious contest recognises the best businesses, entrepreneurs, apprentices and employees in 12 categories.

The Excellence in Manufacturing and Engineering Award is for businesses that excel in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) sector.

It’s third consecutive year that we have supported the awards.

Our managing director Simon Boyd said: “As we celebrate our centenary at REIDsteel, we know just how important manufacturing and engineering excellence has been to the success of our business.

“We also firmly believe in recognising achievement, which make us an ideal sponsor for this category in partnership with Atlas Elektronik UK.

“Manufacturing and engineering are bedrocks of the local and national economy, and it is vital that this sector receives the recognition and support it deserves.

“The Dorset Business Awards are a perfect way of doing this, and shining a spotlight on some of the many exceptional firms we have in the county.

“Awards success brings a tremendous boost for a business and its people, and we look forward to seeing some superb entries which really show manufacturing and engineering at its very best.”

We’re a previous winner of the Exporter of the Year, and have also won four Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade, so we need to great boost that awards success can bring.

It’s free to enter. The deadline for entries is Friday August 2. The gala dinner and awards night is Thursday November 28.
