Solent 250 success

John Reid & Sons Ltd (REIDsteel) has been recognised as one of the top businesses in the Solent in new ratings out today.

The firm features in the 2021 Solent 250 listing of private, independent businesses with the highest turnover in the region.

The Business Magazine has published the rankings with HSBC, Irwin Mitchell, RSM and CMA Recruitment Group.

REIDsteel managing director Simon Boyd said: “The Solent 250 includes some of the region’s most successful and high-profile businesses.

“It is testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone at the company that REIDsteel is included among their number.

“Although we have experienced significant growth over recent years, we are not content to rest on our laurels and have ambitious plans for the future. I hope this will enable us to help make the region an even greater powerhouse than it already is.”

REIDsteel was ranked 232nd in the listings with sales of £20.4m for the year ending March 2019.

Communication infrastructure business Arqiva topped the table with £999.5m sales followed by car dealer Hendy with £835.1m.

Overall, the total combined turnover of businesses in the Solent 250 stood at £17.3bn.

REIDsteel has previously been listed in the Solent 250 and was a finalist for the guide’s International Business of the Year Award in 2019.
