Role Overview

To support the Company’s ongoing growth and drive to increase operational efficiencies, we are seeking a trainee to join our manufacturing facility.

You’ll assist in pre-fabrication activities in our stockyard, operating our shotblast machine and material handling between our workshops. This will support the smooth running of our fabrication/welding process.

A safety conscious, hardworking team player who is keen to learn would be the ideal candidate. We’ll invest in your training, included forklift truck and overhead gantry crane operations.

There may be future opportunities to train to use our steel processing equipment including our robotic plasma.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Unloading steel sections from delivery vehicles.
  • Helping to organise stock in our stock yard.
  • Shot blasting steel sections.
  • Movement of steel sections into our workshops, ensuring that the correct pieces are delivered as required.
  • Safe use of forklift trucks and overhead gantry cranes.
  • Banksman duties.
  • Ensuring that the workshop is kept clean and tidy.
  • Support in other areas of production as required.
  • Working in accordance with our Company Values.

Key Skills

  • Attention to detail – to ensure the correct pieces are supplied to workshops.
  • Numerate – to identify steel sections, check lists and labels.
  • Organised – be able to look ahead to the items required to ensure timely supply to the workshops.
  • Team player – able to help out and support as required.

Key Experience

  • Experience in a structural steel or general manufacturing environment desirable.
