Trainee CNC Operator

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has been created to support team growth and our plans for the future.

Working in our manufacturing facility in Christchurch, you’ll begin by supporting our fabricators and ensuring they have the parts they need in their workshops. We have recently heavily invested in new machinery and you will learn how to use it to prepare steel members for fabrication.

Full training will be given in all areas, including forklift operations so that you may assist with material movements around our manufacturing facility and despatch yard, as well as with the actual CNC machines.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complying with all relevant Company Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Working in accordance with the Company’s core values.
  • Material handling – transporting steel components between workshops.
  • Driving counterbalance and sideloading forklift trucks and operating overhead gantry cranes for steel handling.
  • Operating our Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines including:
    • The Python X robotic plasma cutter
    • The FICEP Punching Shear
    • Plasma tube profiler
  • Other duties around the manufacturing facility as required.
