John Reid & Sons Ltd (REIDsteel) has provided an in-house value engineered and designed full structural steel frame and envelope – including design, fabrication and erection provision – for a prestigious Jaguar Land Rover dealership at Cribb’s Causeway in Bristol.

REIDsteel was engaged by Midas Construction for the development for the Sytner Group’s Guy Salmon dealership.

The overall contract included the main showroom, incorporating a customer drive though service centre, state-of-the-art 29-bay workshop and full complement of ancillary and servicing areas.

REIDsteel provided the steel frame, rainscreen façade and composite wall cladding, architectural mesh facades for the car park area; roof decking comprising car parking which was arranged with parking over two floors with associated access ramps for the rooftop car park of 236 spaces, including crash barriers, mezzanine floors using metal decking and stair cores. Steel sections totalling circa 700 tonnes were used for the Jaguar Land Rover dealership.

Additionally, REIDsteel provided a matching independent wet valet facility to match the main structure.

Extending over 3.7 acres, the £12.3m dealership complex includes display space for 22 new marques and nearly 100 used cars as well as the rooftop parking.

It was a pleasure to work with Midas Construction and play our part in the development of such a prestigious Jaguar Land rover development for one of the country’s leading automotive retailers.

We have provided design, fabrication and erection services – including cladding and glazing – for many automotive showrooms nationwide.
